Sugarcane Farm Manager — Build Log

Five tabs: Overview, Fields, Log Data, Insights, Export. Field cards with health status badges. Yield bar chart and soil moisture donut chart rendered from logged field data. Storage: browser memory only. No server, no account, no persistence across sessions.

Inputs: field name, area (acres), cane variety, planting date, soil moisture status, yield estimate. Unit was acres at this stage — corrected to hectares in a later version.

Automated growth stage prompts and moisture alerts based on logged field conditions. Later consolidated into the per-field card view.

Farm data writes to cloud database on save. Auto-sync every 30 minutes. Manual sync trigger in header. Error log captures failed syncs silently. First version where records persist across devices and sessions.

Account not required to use the app. Local-first: data saves to device storage regardless of auth state. Sign-in links local data to cloud account for cross-device restore.

Replaced prototype green/white theme. LM Reyna Agricultural design tokens applied across all UI surfaces. Dark mode supported from this build forward.

Install prompt exposed in Settings tab. App runs in standalone mode post-install. No app store. No download. Works on any phone with a browser.

Seven tabs: Overview, Map, Fields, Pests, Workers, Expenses, Export. Swipe left/right on mobile to move between tabs. Tab bar: icons only on small screens, no truncated labels.

Replaces onboarding carousel. Inputs: farm name, municipality, province, field count. Completes in under 60 seconds. App fully usable offline immediately after.

When a new build is detected, a banner prompts the farmer to reload. One tap. Installed PWAs receive updates without visiting any store or download page.

Leaflet-based satellite map. Field pins plotted by GPS coordinate. Moisture/rainfall correlation layer integrated. Rendering conflict with sticky header resolved.

Nine pests: RSSI, sugarcane borer, aphids, rootstalk borer weevil, and others. Per-entry: photos, identification markers, control notes. No signal required.

Drop a map pin on the sighting location. Select pest type. Set severity. Attach photo from device camera. Saves locally. Syncs when signal available. Timestamp and coordinates stored per declaration. Record is usable for SRA or DA field validation.

Declared pests sync to a shared map visible to other app users in the same area. Location anonymised by radius. Field-level data not exposed. First network-effect feature in the app.

Red-striped soft scale insect figures loaded from SRA and DA sources. Coverage: Negros Oriental (Bais City calamity declaration), Kabankalan, Cadiz, Iloilo municipalities, Bukidnon. Validated figures distinguished from reported estimates in the UI.

Unmeasured field pins show a draw prompt. Farmer taps polygon points around the field edge on satellite view. App calculates area in hectares. Existing boundaries displayed as reference during draw. Saves in a single confirm step without leaving the Map tab.

Tapping a field pin opens an inline popup: variety, growth stage, area, last cost entry. No tab switch required. Map position retained.

Worker records now editable post-creation. Fields: name, photo, notes. Previously write-once.

Overview tab surfaces a card linking to published field notes. Initial entry: RSSI pest crisis write-up. Deep-dive posts only.

Open Graph and structured metadata added. App links shared on Facebook, WhatsApp, and similar platforms render title, description, and image preview correctly.

SRA-validated nationwide total: 92,000+ hectares. Kabankalan growth rate added. Iloilo municipality-level spread added. Pampanga logged as likely origin point. Calamity declaration dates added per province.

Farm owner generates a secure, time-limited token. Share the link with a cooperative manager or extension officer. Recipient views fields, costs, and pest records. No edit access. No account required to view.

App demoed to an Australian agtech consultant and CEO. Credentials: ICT Entrepreneur of the Year 2019, Rural Consultant of the Year 2018, 20+ years precision agriculture. Feedback logged and actioned: (1) remove unverified yield benchmarks, (2) design toward anonymised farm benchmarking, (3) restrict institutional data-sharing to aggregated views only.

Overview tab had labelled yield bands (Good / Watch / Low) with specific t/ha thresholds. Thresholds sourced from non-Philippine benchmarks. Removed entirely. No benchmark displayed until local data supports it.

Moved from Netlify to Cloudflare Pages. Backend functions rewritten for Cloudflare Workers runtime: no build step, no Node.js dependency chain. Functions: sync, log, pest-declare, pest-scan, farm-view. All running at edge. App live at app.lmreyna.com.
